I have been reliably informed that Irie FM will be in the news on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Beverly Davis, who has served IRIE FM for 25 years, has been fighting for millions of dollars outstanding to her, she claims. On Wednesday, she will stage a one-woman protest in front of the IRE FM office in Ocho Rios from 9:00 am.
Davis was known as an outstanding salesperson at the station, and she said she had to stop working due to mold in the building. She has suffered physical and emotional stress as a result. She has been fighting this issue for about seven years now. She claims that she is due medical redundancy payments. outstanding sales commissions and other payments.
The Ministry of Labour is aware of the concerns regarding the station. I understand that other workers have faced a similar working environment challenge, but they are scared to take action. The Ministry of Labour has the responsibility for ensuring that workers work in an environment where they are able to maintain good health. When a similar matter came up a few years ago, it was said that the ministry does not have sufficient inspectors to inspect workplaces and take appropriate action.
It is expected that Davis will have the support of many women's organizations in the island.
