Minister and MP Delano Seiveright has responded promptly to residents' concerns about the state of Water Works Road in Manor Park in Kingston, which is located in the St. Andrew North East constituency. The concerns were sent to Bark Di Trute.
The following is the Honourable Delano Seiveright’s response.
The Residents
I have spoken with Minister Matthew Samuda, along with the National Water Commission (NWC), Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC), National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA), and other relevant agencies. An assessment is now underway, and emergency remedial work will begin as soon as practicable.
Based on current indications, the Government may be required to complete the project and recover the costs from the private developer. All appropriate legal options are being actively reviewed. This situation is unacceptable and will not be allowed to continue.
Additionally, the Government will immediately review how private developments and public sewer connections are being executed, as the current approach is creating far too many problems.
Councillor Senior and I will keep you fully updated.
Delano Seiveright, MP

Editor's Note
Ministers do respond to complaints promptly, and I would like to see the public sector follow that practice. Note also that while a few citizens are concerned and will write to Bark Di Trute, and some will add comments to the blogs, the majority do not seem to care.
Please share this post with community members and add your comment at the bottom of the blog.
Thanks.
