What's Happening - April 22, 2026

From Bark Di Trute Supporters

A reader says that Debbie Bissoon, in a TVJ interview about a 1-year-old child with hydrocephalus, pronounced "hydrocephalus" as "hydrocophalus."

Debbie, check on that one. Debbie is a very charming person who does well on TV.

Another Bark Di Trute supporter says the following:

Hi Vernon, Thank you for your blog. I think it yielded good attention from the MP, so we will see if any action is taken. All I know is Manor Park and its surrounding area is like a slum.

But thank you, Vernon. You are a champion. Jamaica needs more of you.

Search Warrant For The Wrong Place!

You will recall the blog about those police officers who went to carry out a search warrant, and the name on the search warrant was different from the names of the occupants.

An initial report has been sent to the commissioner of police, and a detailed report will be sent to the relevant state officials.

These rogue cops should be excluded from the force as soon as possible. I know that some were just members of the team, and they had no control.

I got an interesting bit of information this afternoon and that is the owner of the house has a son who is a corporal in the police force. There seems to be more to this story. Probably that is what saved the day.

Another Lawyer

One newspaper has indicated that the police have declared lawyer Debbid-Ann Samuels as a person of interest. I wonder why the police are interested in her. I hope she sees the notice and reports to the police immediately.

Violence In Schools

Let me remind my readers that over the past thirty years or more, several students have been killed and abused by other students. When are we going to put a stop to this problem in our schools?

The latest murder incident occurred at Seaforth High School, and the school administration has been silent on the matter. The JTA head and other leaders are also silent. The violence is taking place in several schools. Videos have been circulated about Belair High and Excelsior High School. There could be other students involved, but those videos are not available.

ABC star James Valentine, 64, dies by Euthanasia

Legendary ABC Radio Sydney broadcaster James Valentine, a musician and a broadcaster, was a household name in Australia. He developed cancer, and he used voluntary assisted dying after his long illness.

Voluntary assisted dying is offered to people who are terminally ill and who are capable of making the decision to end their lives.

While assisted suicide is not legal in all countries, it is legal under certain circumstances in some countries, including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Luxembourg, most of Australia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, and parts of the United States.

Jamaica College Old Boys Meeting

Bark Di Trute understands that there should have been a Jamaica College old boys' association meeting this afternoon to discuss the cases of boys being beaten at Jamaica College. Sources tell me there was no meeting.

The old boys should realize that this is a matter for the administration to deal with, and I saw their involvement as interfering. These incidents of violence over the past few days are operational matters which the school administration should be dealing with, rather than some old boys bullying Bark Di Trute and putting out press releases and speaking for the school.

Jamaica College is in trouble. There are conflicts at the level of the board and also among the old boys. Tomorrow, one matter will be dealt with in the Supreme Court. More to come!
