Kari Lake, of Arizona, is to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Jamaica. This means she will be empowered to make decisions on behalf of the government and to sign treaties. Although this title is used often these days, it means the highest status that an ambassador can be given.
Kari Lake is a former Fox 10 news anchor, a Republican candidate for Arizona governor (2022), a U.S. Senate candidate (2024), and a former senior adviser at the United States Agency for Global Media.
The nomination of Kari Lake is subject to a US Senate hearing and confirmation.
