Press Release From ODPEM - June 10. 2026
The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) notes that a minor earthquake was felt in several parts of Jamaica at approximately 4:11 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
Information from the Earthquake Unit at UWI, Mona, indicates that the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.5 and was located approximately 15 kilometres south of Annotto Bay, St. Mary, at a depth of 18 kilometres.
The earthquake was reportedly felt in Kingston, St. Andrew, and St. Catherine. At this time, ODPEM has received no reports of damage or injuries. Assessments are ongoing through parish disaster coordinators and emergency response partners.
ODPEM reminds the public that earthquakes occur without warning and encourages all Jamaicans to remain prepared.
The Earthquake Unit continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates if additional information becomes available.
Individuals who felt the earthquake are encouraged to submit reports to the Earthquake Unit to support seismic monitoring and analysis.
All Jamaicans are urged to stay alert and be prepared.
