The funeral service for Mrs Zeana Smith, the mother of Vernon Dery, editor of Bark Di Trute, will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2026. The funeral service will take place at the Litchfield Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Litchfield, Trelawny. The service starts at 11:00 am. Litchfield is close to Christiana in Manchester.
Mrs Zeana Smith is from Jackson Town in Trelawny. She attended First Hill All-Age School in the parish. She gained early business exposure by working at a business establishment in Sawyers.
Miss Fisher, as she was known then, started her own business in Lower River, then moved to Glastonbury, then to Lime Tree. She was the postmistress at the Glastonbury postal agency for many years.
In her final years, she lived in Montego Bay in Rhyne Park. Mrs Smith was the last living member of her siblings. Her husband, Eric Smith, predeceased her.

Eastern Tropical Atlantic: A tropical wave and associated area of low pressure over the far eastern Atlantic a few hundred miles southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
This system could become a tropical depression during the next few days while it moves westward to west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic. Environmental conditions could become less conducive for development by the weekend.
Tuesday, August 25, will be another hot and humid day with temperatures as high as 34 degrees Celsius. No rain is predicted. Make sure that you are properly covered and that you have drinking water with you. Minimize your exposure to the sun.
