The Dams need to be Desilted.
ReplyDeleteMona dam was built to contain 808 million gallons.Last desilted about 1976 =50 years ago at 30% siltation.
There is now about 70% silt therefore only about
243 million gallons of water with about 200 million gallons usable.
If things continue in this way there could be water lock offs in Kingston during the rainy season.
First move is to desilt the Mona and Hermitage Dams to increase the amount of available/usable water.
