I would like you to use your programme to ask the authority to help those persons who work in3-miles to get to work. It is ‘like pulling teeth’ to get to work.
I work at Musson Jamaica Limited (Cnr of Marcus Garvey and Spanish Town Road) right in the heart of 3-miles. I tried to get to work this morning (Sept 12) and could not get in from any angle that I tried. First I entered Hagley Park Road from Waltham Park Road and by the time I got to NCB there was a concrete barrier. Luckily I was driving a SUV so I climbed the Island and went on the opposite side of the road only to see more concrete barriers. I then turned into Cockburn Penn near Scotia Bank and I could not drive on the left as the oncoming traffic (mostly minibus) was blocking the road (making an illegal lane on my side of the road) so I had to wait for a while until the road was cleared.
I then turned the next left after passing BNS Bank to enter Spanish Town Road and there were concrete barriers again. I then turned back and drove into Cockburn Penn and saw an exit near to Toyota Jamaica. I was so happy and began to drive on to Spanish Town Road to get to my workplace and to my surprise, there were more barriers so I could not get down to that side. I saw a woman police at the exit at Cockburn Penn on a bike and asked for assistance but she was sending me back to where I was coming from and then told me she is not familiar with the area and she herself is trying to find her way out of the area.
Vernon, I got so mad so I decided to drive in the opposite direction after crossing the Island going towards the oncoming vehicles coming out of ‘Backtu’ on to Spanish Town Road. They must have thought I was mad to be driving on the right hand side of the road but that is how I got to my office. This took me more than 40 mins going back and forth when it would normally take only 1 min.
I would like the authority to explain to us at Musson, how we should get in and out of our office at 178 Spanish Town Road (the Heart of 3-mile).
Thanks for your usual prompt attention.
