Covid-19 The Killer, Is Still Around

It is clear to me that some persons continue to ignore the regulations which are in place to reduce the spreading of the pandemic Covid-19. It is just amazing that police have to be aggressively helping to protect our own health and our lives.

At the supermarkets, some person only put on the masks to get into the supermarket and not really to protect their health.  They wear the masks as mouth, chin, head top, pocket and hand masks and most these days wear them correctly.

The government should have set up a ticketing system to deal with those who fail to abide by the law. Failure to wear masks in public should incur a fine of no less that JAD100,000. Those who put on illegal events should be find JMD2 million. These persons and organizations who put on illegal events should not be given permission in the future to have another events.

Today Sunday April 25, many persons followed the regulations and the streets in Kingston were devoid of traffic. Rural towns are usually quiet on Sundays and there are hardly any vehicles in these towns.

Persons continue to stay close to one another in the supermarkets and if you talk to them about it, they become abusive. I asked a gentleman to step back because he was too close to me. He shouted for all to hear, " Yu a batty man?"

I responded, "Yes, and I was wondering if you wanted to hug me up".

I noticed that some parents go to supermarkets with their masks on and the children do not have on any masks. I wonder if they know that the children can take home the virus to the parents and their grandparents. There is this feeling that you cannot catch covid-19 from close friends and relatives, so when we talk to them we remove the masks from our faces.

Aftermath of a big party in Vineyard Town.

Very little traffic on the roads this afternoon in New Kingston.
