Miss Lilian Reid Interim Executive Director - JCDC |
A few months ago I questioned the intention of the JCDC (Jamaica Cultural Development Commission)/Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport to appoint a well known gentleman to lead the JCDC. Note that this important organization has not had a permanent head for probably over four years now. The contract for the previous acting head, Daffodil Thompson was not renewed. She had started to make significant changes to improve the accountability of the entity and therefore many persons including JCDC Board members were of the opinion that her contract would have been renewed.
Mrs. Marjorie Leyden-Kirton was appointed to act as Head of the organization after Miss Daffodil Thompson's contract was not renewed. Before Miss Daffodil's appointment, Mr. Orville Hill was the Interim Executive Director. There is now another new person acting as head of the JCDC, Miss Lilian Reid. Listen to her speaking at a conference and add your comments to the blog. Thanks.

Why is she struggling to read such a simple thing? Doesn't sound like the kind of leader that body needs!!

ReplyDeleteMy concern with this body goes way back, back to the days when independence was truly a time of celebration, it has been watered down to the extent where i wondered if this body is opperated by jamaicans.
ReplyDeleteIn Jamaica we would say, wi pick and pick till wi pick ....
