Politics mixed with technology and the creative talents of some persons, are being used effectively to rain some serious blows on political leaders. Recently, Mrs. Juliet Holness, MP and wife of Prime Minister Andrew Holness, had attempts to damage her image by what some claim were persons digitally manipulating her picture.
As the election approaches, it is expected that more creative things will be circulated about politicians. Readers on social media will have to be more discerning and to recognize pictures that have been digitally manipulated to create a different impression.

It comes with the territory. When in the public light people will take swipes at you for different reasons: jealousy, envy, hate, and others.
Is this legal though? If not, efforts must be made to the track the perpetrators down and prosecute them, as others will join in. But it is legal and is it seen as freedom of expression (character defamation)?
Then the individuals just have to have a broad back to handle it in a professional manner. Public figures should not behave high handed when handling these matters but should act according to the law. If action is taken for one, then it should be possible for all.
Does the Data Protection Act give access to prosecute these offenders?
