Vernon L, Derby |
It has been a labour of love and and the love from my listeners has kept me going over the past 12 years. What a roller coaster ride since my return to radio. Many of you know that I have a passion for broadcasting, acting, show business and I love to serve others.
First let me thank those bike riders who ensured that I reached to work on time when the traffic came to standstill in Kingston during the road work which took place in Kingston two years ago. Thanks to those who assisted me in terms of ensuring that I had things that I needed in order to serve you. God bless those who stood by me and those who provided medical care at a time when I did not know if it would have been this world or the next. Thanks to those private and public sector organizations which stood with me and without them, I could not have provided the type of service that I provided to the public.
Your support has helped me to encourage organizations to make changes that Jamaicans have benefitted from. I am proud to have been the first persons to have our vendors from coronation market and other markets give you the prices of items in the market on a weekly basis. I am also proud to be the first radio host, to host the United States Embassy Consular Section on my programme each month.
Today starting at 0830 and ending at 1000 Eastern Standard Time, it will be my last time on air.. What next will depend on the Father and on your support.
I love you all - walk good my friend.

ReplyDeleteI am going to miss you Mr.Derby, I remember that morning back in 2016 when I was going through a hard time at work with my supervisor and manager, I told myself that I need something to take my mind off them. My friend told me about a radio station, (it wasn't NNN) but when I heard VD and how caring he was and his programs offerings I fell in love...then GW came on then Miss Kitty...and in the morning Dennis Brooks and khaliah Reynolds...😊😊. Mr. Derby ride on...I know it will only be for the greater good...
