David Tulloch Gives Rhythm on Riddim In The Mornings

As his countless fans know, next to his God, his family, people and progress, David Tulloch’s twin passions are theatre and music. Nothing brings him greater joy. Having won an enviable stash of awards for his work on and off the stage, it comes as no surprise that he’s now giving greater focus and deepening his work in the music business. What might be surprising to some is that he’s tapping into the gospel genre having released 2 gospel singles. Now convicted in the faith, David wants his ministerial contribution to not only include plays and films; so one of his last performances came critically acclaimed in the role of Deacon Baton in the highly award-nominating “Pit to Pulpit”.

David wants to tap into his musical talents and give back to praise and worship in his very own style. Despite his numerous accolades and a theatre career spanning almost 29 years as an all-rounder  in the performing arts, David is now a twelve-time Actor Boy Award winner, seven-time Thespy Spirit award winner, three-time Methuen award winner and a Prime Minister’s Youth awardee. At 41 years of age this multi-hyphenate has already written, produced and directed over 100 plays. He has 13 original scores to his credit and appeared in over 200 productions including stage plays and concerts.

Laudably prolific, classily provocative, and ostensibly passionate about whatever he does, David has an ITI Actor Boy nomination for Best Actor in a leading role for his distinct portrayal of “Scar” in LION KING. David has appeared on stage in the  heavily lauded and awarded FOR MY DAUGHTER and ACROSS THE BRIDGE with the legendary Leonie Forbes. He brought life and garnered numerous accolades and acclamations for his signature portrayal of Peter/Petagaye in the year long run of PRAYER PARTNER. He also appeared in WHITE SKIN BLACK HEART and delivered a show-stopping performance as “George Leslie” in SUGAR DADDY. All these productions written, directed and produced by himself. He played the lead role of “Javert” in the Jamaica Musical Theatre Company’s award winning 2015 production of AT THE BARRICADE which he also produced and directed. He was the last to join the cast of 20 year franchise of ‘The Blackburns of Royal Palm Estate’ as the notorious “Sobers” and appeared in his own ‘BANGARANG’ which was the 2015 offering of the Shebada franchise and toured extensively for over a year locally and overseas. He was signed to the Shebada franchise for 3 years writing and directing a slew of hits for them over the period and then directed BORDER PATROL 1, 2 & GRANNY DEL for the Delcita franchise, even appearing in BORDER PATROL 2 as CJ. He has done radio and film as a writer, producer, director and actor and has brought many productions and performers to award-winning status.

The young veteran was  the general manager and proprietor of The Phoenix Theatre Company Ltd for 4 years and was recently inducted into the Probemaster Entertainment Hall of Fame. He had aalso embarked on a political career in February of 2020 running on the PNP’s ticket for the constituency of North East St. Andrew. He believes in having his works published so Rockstone Publishers will be a new addition to the Probemaster Entertainment family. Recently, he has been a broadcaster on Riddim FM for almost a year marshaling the morning show ‘Riddim Up’ from 6am to 10am. David is dubbed the ‘Golden Boy of Jamaican Theatre’ by Tallawah Magazine, ‘Miracle-worker’ by his close colleagues but more commonly referred to as the ‘Mad Scientist’ of the industry.
