Peter Asbourne and Rosina Moder For SpotOn With Vernon Derby

The wife and husband team of Rosina Moder OD, and Peter Asbourne CD, will be my special guest on Be My Guest on Riddim FM. Tune in on Monday, June 27, 2022. The show SpotOn begins at 1000 hours, and they will be on from  1100 hours to 1200 EST.

Many will get the chance to see Peter's E - Park Band perform at the 20th anniversary concert at the Emancipation Park on August 1, from 6 pm to 9 pm. This will be a free concert.

I understand that the Peter Ashbourne's Reggae Opera Mikey, is still on pause but hopefully it will be premiered in Jamaica soon.

Rosina Moder has played a significant role in developing the teaching of the recorder in Jamaica and the Caribbean. She wrote the Tu Tu Tu Tu recorder teaching method for Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean. This is used widelyin schools here and in the region.

Peter and his wife worked together in choosing, arranging and conducting the music for several Grand Galas in the past, including for the Golden Gala, when the Olympians returned so successfully from China, led by Usain Bolt! Peter also wrote the music for several Pantomimes. Johnny Reggae is one of the popular pantomimes that he has worked with.

Many of you will recall the HTB Easter Bun jingle, which is regarded as the longest playing jingle in Jamaica. Peter was the man behind the music on that.

Rosina says that a prominent home for our Music Research Centre is needed. This could be a hub for music -  doing exhibitions and concerts, as well as offering office space for other  Musical organizations like the POJ - Philharmonic Orchestra of Jamaica! She went on to say that we need the Ward Theatre to be repaired soon and to be in full swing again! She contends that more support is needed from the government and the private sector.

Music that Peter Asbourne has worked on that you might not have heard before:
