Media War Heats Up in Jamaica - Challenges Ahead

The media competition is heating up even more, in this changing media landscape. One Marketing Manager at a well known media house has paid the price of this change and has been removed from the position. Companies are becoming more aggressive in fighting for improved market share so we can expect more casualties.

We might even see more media houses changing hands and changing their programmes. Presenters also have been playing hop scotch in moving from station to station. Their options could decrease because there could be more fall out and therefore less media entities to choose from.

Added to these changes is the move to digital broadcasting being on the horizon. Some media houses might not be able to afford the switch over due to lack of finances. This of course will have an impact on the competition. Indeed, interesting days are ahead.

Social media seems to be it so traditional media have to be swift with the news while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, authenticity, depth,
follow ups with no fake news.I get most of my news on the go via my phone and social media plays a big part if that's what you mean by digital platform.I don't find the traditional news platforms on my phone as easy as the non traditional where you have to sift out the real news from the, sensational nonsense, fake news etc.You are correct digital convenient platforms gonna be the future like it or not.
