Jamaica is now getting ready to celebrate another year of independence. The country has moved from being a colony of Britain. Jamaica has moved from being a place where black Africans were engaged to work under harsh conditions and to enrich the people of Britain. Slavery was eventually abolished and we attained independence and self-government on August 6, 1962, Our island is now an independent nation and we are now at another milestone discussing how we will divest ourselves of the monarchical system. The people are also demanding other changes to the system.
I want Jamaicans overseas and those who are on the island to be a part of the celebrations. Send me a short story about growing up in Jamaica. Tell me about those good old days.
