Is There a Crisis at Cornwall Regional Hospital?

I just got a video allegedly taken at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay. The WhatsApp message which came with it says that the wards at the Cornwall Regional Hospital are overflowing and persons are sleeping on the floor. I am not going to show the video since one has to take into consideration that one's health is a confidential matter.

The video will be sent to the Minister of Health and I will ask him to comment.

If you have more information about the state of patient care at the Cornwall Regional Hospital, send me a WhatsApp message at (876) 816-5261.

Is this a case of persons flooding public health spaces instead of using private spaces due to economic situation...and if that is so...are we as a people willing to pay additional indirect taxes to strengthen public coffers?

It is indeed a sad state of affairs with our health sector/system. What makes it worse is that annually the budget is read and there is an increase in the amount to be spent for the rehabilitation of CRH but the place keeps deteriorating & getting worse. How comes!?

What is Jamaica coming to?? Can this be real? Patients are given a gown & a piece of cardboard?? Are you serious?? Is there an outbreak of some sort & there's a flood on the current system?

How long are we planning to sit and take all that is being flung at us by the criminals and the politicians?

We are in a disgraceful and filthy state.

Let’s rally to improve this situation. We can donate health equipment to a local charity and we can ask the ministry of health to help overseas health workers with a special license to volunteer. I’m quite happy to be a part of this steering committee.
