This Nine Day Wonder Thing Must Stop!!!

Missing Trelawny beach

Jamaica has some traditions which we need to change if we are going to move ahead with the rest of the world. One of these challenges is if something happens today then it is news. Tomorrow it becomes history. A few days later it will be forgotten. We call it the nine-day wonder.

The traditional news media is guilty of this practice of not mentioning serious events which happened in the past. That is why many leaders commit certain acts and they believe that if they keep quiet for a few days, then the matter becomes history and soon after the nine-day wonder philosophy will take care of that - it will be forgotten.

I will mention two matters now and I want you to add others as comments or you can click on the link below the title on the right of this blog which says: Click on the link below to make Reports to Bark Di Trute!!! You can also use the WhatsApp link which is above the link I just mentioned.

First Nine-Day Wonder

It was reported that a whole beach was removed on the north coast and as far as I know, the beach has not been located in Jamaica so many are wondering if it was exported! This happened on July 20, 2008.

Second Nine-Day Wonder

Mr. Lloyd James who was Vice President of Finance at Air Jamaica was killed while heading into his house, This seemed like an assassination and nothing has been heard of this case since. I believe that this happened in the 90s. Do you remember this case?

The Next Nine-Day Wonder

The Heroes Circle Crab nastiness is one that we must not make it become another nine-day wonder. Already the Mayor is having meetings with the same people who sold crabs at Heroes Circle, and apparently, the same people will be back at Heroes Circle. Really! Mr Mayor, you should resign as mayor and set up your own street crab shop and employ those people. You might find a few who can stomach the nastiness and will patronize them!
