Press Release from the Meteorological Office of Jamaica:
A Broad Area of Low Pressure, with a low chance of Tropical Cyclone development over the next 2 days, is currently located across the southwestern Caribbean. This area of Low Pressure is expected to gradually move northwards and into the vicinity of Jamaica on Sunday through to Tuesday. This area of Low Pressure is expected to generate unstable weather conditions throughout this period.
The forecast is for mostly cloudy conditions to continue through the weekend, with periods of showers and thunderstorms, which could be heavy at times with occasional gusty winds, to affect mainly eastern and central parishes starting late Sunday and continuing through to Tuesday.
Fishers and other marine interests should exercise caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds.
The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor this system.
