Look at the video below of a child locked up in a car while the man who drove the car was in the supermarket at Lee's Food Fair on Red Hills Road in Kingston. This incident happened about five years ago. I am not aware of any action that has been taken.
Think of the possibilities:
- Thieves could have broken into the car and driven the car away.
- The engine could have shut off with the child left to die in the car.
- The car owner could have had an emergency and had been taken to a hospital. No one would have known he left a baby in the car.
This matter was reported to the Commissioner of Police, 119, the children's Advocate and others. It was reported in the news by one radio station.
The man who drove the car said that nothing could be done about it and it seemed as if he was right!!! Many reading this report will comment that this is a long time ago forget it. Things remain the same because we forget them!

ReplyDeleteNot true. This happens all the time in the US. The difference is, some people get caught and are charged.
