Priest Survives Dangerous Fall
Fr. Maximo Medina, at the Catholic Mount Tabor Retreat, fell from a roof 7 feet high on November 9. The Brothers from Mount Tabout acted quickly. He had multiple injuries. The Catholic community is happy that his life has been spared. He is now out of the UWI hospital.

Burchell Whiteman was the principal of York Castle High School and Brown’s Town Community College.[3] He also chaired the board of the University Council of Jamaica.[4] He entered politics in 1989 as a member of the People's National Party (PNP) and was elected as Member of Parliament for Saint Ann North Western.[2] In 1992, Whiteman became Minister of Education.[5] In 2002, he was appointed Minister of Information.[2] In 2007, he was appointed High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, a position he held till end-December 2009.[6] In 2014, he received an appointment to the council of the University of Technology, Jamaica.[3]
