Attorneys have their jobs to perform, jobs that they are paid to do. Citizens must be watchdogs, especially in a country where corruption, nastiness and indiscipline want to overpower the good in this great little country. When we are highly placed in society, we can hide the truth. This is Jamaica - wi lickle, but we tallawah. The truth like oil will float to the top of the water.
Let us look at this Mellisa Silvera case. Mellisa was allegedly found dead in her sleep a few weeks ago. The public was informed that she died from natural causes. Mr Peter Champanie JP, KC, represents Mellisa's husband, a former MP Jolyan Silvera. Initially, the report was that the former MP's wife died from natural causes. Weeks after the tune has changed - this is a murder case!
The Jamaica Gleaner newspaper, dated Monday, December 18, 2023, headline screams, "Attorney warns against speculation amid mysterious Silvera Death".
Did anyone listen while the people speculated? A few persons, including those who publish things on social media, were not comfortable with the news that Mellisa Silvera died from natural causes. Story a come to bump!
Mr. Champaignie, rather than worrying about the people's speculation, we need to push for a thorough investigation into why the cause of death was determined as natural when the autopsy now shows she had gunshot wounds. Some police officers will have much to answer - The doctor, the children and others close to the family will have much to answer.
This will be the mother of all cases. A case where we will see some firsts. Other persons whose truths are hidden must be shaking in their boots!!!

This is funny which doctor past her died from natural causes when somebody died a home you have to call the police so did the police see any blood , who do the shooting doctor , lawyer and police we need ANSWER

Jamaica for most parts is a corrupt country. This is evident in parliament. Many of whom are influential and wealthy have been getting away with murder for years. Remember the case with Mr. Patrick Bailey. What's the latest position on that!
For starters, the entire country needs a TRUTH and reconciliation during which we CALL THE BABY UGLY.
I am not optimistic about the whole truth coming to light...
I guess "natural causes" means that naturally you die after being shot!
This is part of the corruption in Jamaica, whoever declared her death by natural cause should be jailed if that is inaccurate the funeral director also should be called to answer because in preparation of that body that funeral director would certainly know of the gunshot wounds. Ouch! The truth will only hurts,if those who are doing wrong to stop and take responsibility for their actions.
Those who knows the right and keeping doing wrong and acting like they are bigger than the law's of God and of the state. So they have no fair of what is to come. If anything to come at all. They should be paying double for the evil they have done.
If this is true, then his son's death should also be investigated as well.
