This all started when Corporal James made certain comments at a funeral service. He did so in his capacity as Chairman of the Police Federation. His comments irked some members of the police high command.
The best strategy would have been to call in the Federation Head and his executive and talk with them. Consultation, mediation and an agreed settlement would be the ideal outcome of this preferred strategy.
This reminds me - Hamas had entered Israel, and Israel is hell-bent on using all its forces to write off Hamas completely. The challenge is Jamaica is one country and I cannot see how this country will benefit from this internal strife between the Federation, the top brass of the police force and we still expect excellent service from the security forces. This bloodletting must stop and egos must be put aside. We will end up winning the battle but the war will continue.
Lest we forget, the big war, the war on crime is very challenging and we are losing the war against crime. Those playing politrics in this game should remember that di same knife wey stick goat wi stick sheep. Let's take this matter of Corporal James out of the courts. Reinstall Rohan as a corporal and also head of the Police Federation. The new Commissioner cannot lead a divided force.
Where are the churches? Where are the trade unions? Where are the other workers' organizations? Were are the rank and file members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force? Somehow we are fast asleep. We will wake up one day to find that the workers' rights have all been lost.

Am trying to figure out! What is wrong with our system of government. The court said to reinstate Mr. James and it seems like nobody is listening to the highest order of the Land. Why is there so much back and forth going on. As if there is power struggle going on or is there some one trying to sink one of their very own member. Something just no look gud at all. We need help to really settle this one. Once and for all.
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough one they need to work it out once & for all 👹
ReplyDeleteRemember James Forbes?
ReplyDeleteI so agreed with you, we have to take the Politics out of the Police Force for them to do a better job at crime fighting.
