The Cabinet of the Cayman Island government as part of an ongoing effort to bring about legislation changes is reviewing the immigration policies of the country.
The government will be looking at implementing a system of term limits for non-Caymanians in the civil service. This would apply to future hires. The government will set up a working group to look into this matter.
Many Jamaicans have joined the Caymanian Civil Service. If this new law is implemented, it could affect the number of Jamaicans who go to Cayman Islands to join the Civil Service.

What? is it that this is the start of a wave in the region to restrict Jamaicans at the higher levels.

It is simply Cayman doing what we are already doing and what Jamaicans cuss the government about, how Jamaicans can't get jobs because foreigners full up de place. That said, the report says non Caymanians and it was specific to the civil service. For you to suggest that all who does not work in the civil service are regular workers or slaves is quite sad.
Not all Jamaicans are fully bright and fully decent. I suspect though, that most of those who go to Cayman are. Many work in the private sector and so the impact might not be as bad as we are ready to concern ourselves about. Perhaps the teachers are the one who would work in the public service.
