The FLA is Firing Some Bad shots!

The following message was received from a Bark Di Trute reader:

Shane Dalling - Head of the FLA

A firearm permit is renewed on one's birthday annually.  Unfortunately hurricane  Beryl hit 🇯🇲 on Wednesday, July 3, leaving many without electricity, and water and with significant damage to their property.

The fee to license a firearm is $12 000 annually...FLA now charges a fee of $15 000 as a late fee if you are even a day late...how can a late fee be more than the annual fee...but even more astonishing is that this is still being implemented after a national disaster.

The person who encountered this issue works for a government agency and had to be on the road with equipment and a team clearing the areas after the substantial damage done after Beryl...he was told that the fee had to be paid and a letter written to the CEO Shane Dalling regarding reimbursement. How can this type of system still be in place in 2024..P.M. please intervene... it's not about the money but the principle.
