Rev. Al Miller To Have a Nail-Biting Discussion On SpotOn with Vernon Derby

On Monday, August 19, 2024, from 1300 to 1400 hours EST, Rev. Al Miller will join me to discuss the pressing issue of crime in our country and the actions we should consider as a nation. This past weekend, Rev. Miller visited Cherry Tree Lane, where he witnessed firsthand how the community is coping after the recent massacre of eight people by ruthless criminals. He will provide an update on the situation during our conversation.

Rev. Dr. Al Miller, regarded as a visionary and one of Jamaica’s most influential church leaders, is the founder of Whole Life Ministries and serves as the Senior Pastor and Apostolic Voice of Fellowship Tabernacle Ministries. He is renowned for his bold and righteous approach to individual Purpose and Transformation, which he believes are essential for National Transformation. Rev. Miller has been an outspoken advocate for the church’s role as a positive influence on national issues and has consistently called for good governance and accountability from both church and state leaders.

Recently, the Prime Minister in response to the killings at Cherry Tree Lane, suggested that criminals should either face a judge or their maker. Some interpreted it as support for extra-judicial killings. However, when a terrorist engages in a gun battle with law enforcement officers, they are at war with the state. We certainly don't expect the police to aim for a criminal’s toes while the criminal targets their hearts.

The police must act decisively when forced to engage in such situations. While we cannot afford to lose a law enforcement officer, we can afford to lose a terrorist.
