Archdeacon Cunningham Holding His Tongue - His Homily at Norma Creary's Funeral Blowing Up Social Media!

Archdeacon Cunningham
Archdeacon Cunningham has held his tongue since his controversial speech at Mrs Norma Creary's funeral service last weekend. Other people who attended the funeral service found the Archdeacon's utterances disturbing.

I have spoken to the Archdeacon twice and sent him messages. He has not released a statement about this matter responding to the family. It would help if the Anglican Church and the Council of Churches comment on this matter.

Today I received another video from someone who attended the service.

I have listened to parts of Archdeacon Cunningham's speech in various social media posts and I must admit it is an unusual speech for a funeral service. Let us continue to wait to hear from Archdeacon Cunningham, the Anglican Church and the Council of Churches.

  3. The bishop was speaking to the living not the dead. Its a pity more of our peachet donot pay attention to the living and not the dead. They need to take a page out of his book. You hardly get tem hence they need to be address. Call a spade a spade.

  4. I see nothing out of place or disrespectful in the Archbishop's utterances. He made his points centred on people accepting the Good Sheherd as their example. Using the MP as the person accepting hell over heaven is a long standing analogy coming from centuries ago..People are too touchy these days. He never dissed Ms Creary but spoke highly of her. Incidentally I support the JLP.

  5. I have read the verses fromeremiah. It was very apt and appropriate. Many of us are totally disgusted by the level of selfishness, greed corruption, political tribalism, etc. that is destroying JAMAICA LAND WE LOVE. Most of us are numb and afraid to speak speak against these things. With a wide cross section of politicians, some of whom are corrupt, the messsge was timely. They must stop their crooked ways and turn to God. Homilies at funerals all seek to get those of us who are alive to prepare for the end. I see no difference in this one. It is very unkind to suggest that the misfortune that happened may have been caused by Ms Norma or God's displeasure at the homily. Others have died playing organ at funeral, etc. Thank God he did not die. He might yet save more souls which is his job.
