I discovered that a WhatsApp user who sent personal messages to a friend had all his messages also sent to my WhatsApp account. I reported the matter to the WhatsApp Help Centre. This is indeed shocking in that I was able to obtain personal information about the person. This information in the wrong hands could be used for nefarious purposes.
I could see the messages sent by one party, but I was unable to see the responses from the other party. The software assures us that communication using WhatsApp is secure. We need to get an answer advising us how this breach is possible?
Recently, I made a podcast advising people on how to make their WhatsApp accounts more secure. Very few people have responded to that podcast.
I suggest that persons desist from sending confidential information via WhatsApp until further information is given. Note also that confidential information should not be sent via email unless you are using a secure email system.

Secure now means it seems that others can secure your messages.
These man made messaging concoctions can always be breached at some time.
You then fix it until someone finds a way to breach it again.
That is called GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT a constant cycle necessary for change to occur.
These technologies always have people employed to work at breaching and correcting such breaches before others with nefarious intentions do.
Tge breachers on the outside are hired at times to correct breaches.
Everyone should know by now how important it is to secure what's important to them, but I guess not, because it doesn't matter how much things has been talked about you have people who still never hear, so people as you sir Derby have to keep putting it out there.
