Jamaica Council of Churches and the Sprinkling of White Rum on Buses

Press Release From The Jamaica Council of Churches, August 28, 2025

The Jamaica Council of Churches (JCC) approves initiatives to provide convenient and safe transportation for our children to and from school. Therefore, we support the effort by government to address this gap in the welfare of our nation's children.

In keeping with this principled position, the President of the JCC, Bishop Christine Gooden-Benguche accepted an invitation from the Minister of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport to dedicate buses that were assigned to the Rural School Transportation Programme. This act of dedication took place at a brief service at the Banquet Hall at the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. A printed Order of Service was prepared and followed, and Bishop GoodenBenguche, along with another clergyperson, was an officiant. Upon the completion of the first segment of the Service of Blessing, which featured remarks from the Minister and a brief reflective meditation from Bishop Gooden-Benguche, the attendees, including the media, relocated to where the school buses were parked on the lawns of the OPM. This segment of the Blessing Service featured additional prayers of dedication of the busses, during which holy water was symbolically used to bless them. Supplications for the Minister and the staff of the ministry were also said, following which an appropriate Benediction was pronounced. The clergy officiants at this service, including Bishop Benguche, departed from the location shortly thereafter, as their call to duty ended.

We have seen images that purport the use of an alcoholic libation as a ritual in the event. We are aware of the religio-cultural significance of such a ritual, but remind the nation that this is not a part of the Christian liturgy that is practiced in our churches. As such, Bishop Gooden-Benguche and the other clergy officiants were not involved in or present at any time when such an activity took place.

We appreciate our rich and diverse culture in general and its understanding of its historical retentions in particular. However, we do not embrace these practices in our Christian liturgy for our worship of and service to the God revealed in the Holy Scriptures and manifestly fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ - our Saviour and Lord who is the Head of the Church.

Editor's Note

Why does the Jamaica Council of Churches (JCC) feel obliged to send out this press release about this sprinkling of alcohol on the buses? There are far more important things happening in the country that the JCC should address. If people want to do certain actions even while church leaders are present, that is neither here nor there. If the action were a sinful one, then I would understand. This is all about a storm in a teacup.

Using a bottle of rum is not a matter of the Holy Spirit versus the Bottled Spirit. Is it that the church wants to separate itself from other religious groups? If the Rastas were present, they might have bun a spliff. Have we all been drinking white rum, and are we all drunk?

  2. I am not a Christian. Me and my house serve the Eternal Father, YAHUAH. In an age of information one could easily do their own research and realise that the name Jesus was a lie.

What I am about to say has to do with documented historical facts.

Gian Giorgio Trissino (8 July 1478 – 8 December 1550), also called Giovan Giorgio Trissino and self-styled as Giovan Giωrgio Trissino, was a Venetian Renaissance (history revisionist) humanist, poet, dramatist, diplomat, grammarian, linguist, and philosopher. He first proposed adding letters to the Italian alphabet to distinguish J from I, as well as the V from U. This was because the letters I and V are both found as numerals as well as letters.

In 1524 Gian Giorgio Trissino introduced the letter J to the English dialect. English, though quite ubiquitous, was not an official language at the time and 80 years later, in 1604 the first English dictionary by Robert Cawdrey was published with the letter J in it.

Samuel Johnson's Dictionary of the English Language was published in 1755 and is widely considered the first modern English dictionary.

It was around the mid 16th Century when English became an official language.

Therefore, English as a language is not even 500 years old. Meaning, it is historically impossible for the Creator's Name to have the letter J in it as names jesus, jehovah or jah are all recent names.

Even the first KJV of 1611 had the name iesus as the name for the saviour. It was not until five editions later in 1628 the the letter J stated to appear in the Bible and the name Joshua son of Nun was be used.

The original language of Abariy (paleo Hebrew) is over 6500 years old and it has only 22 letters as there are no J, W, O, E, nor V letters in the Abariy (formerly Hebrew) alphabet (alaphbat). The son of man, Yahusha, (formerly Jesus) was Abariym (formerly Hebrew) or better yet Yahudiym or Natsariym from the tribe of YAHudah (formerly Judah) He spoke no Greek. However He spoke Abariy (Hebrew) and Aramiyt (formerly Aramaic), a Shamatic (formerly Shematic) language

  3. The true name of the Creator is *YAHUAH* . It has always been *YAHUAH* but the devil introducing over 400,000 errors in the Bible and creating confusion by making us to call on all these other powerless names (Jesus, Jah, Jehovah, Yahweh, Yeshuah, etc.) as well as titles (lord, god, etc.) for names.

    - *YAHUAH* is the Father
    - *YAHUAH* is the Son
    - *YAHUAH* is the Set-Apart Spirit
    - *YAHUAH* is the Al Shadiy (Mother)
    - *YAHUAH* is the Saviour (Yahusha)

    see *YAHUHANAN* (formerly John) *5:43*
    *YAHUAH* Mashiyha (saviour) said
*43* "I have come in my Father's Name, and you do not receive Me. If another shall come in his own name, you will receive him."
The one who came in his own name is Jesus (iesus). And the origin is Greek meaning hail Zeus.

Please, do not take my word for it, but do your own research to find your self approved (*2 TIYMUTIY* sn-Timothy, *2:15*) . Then you will realise that it is proven that it is impossible for the name of the saviour to be jesus, or Eternal Father to be god nor lord.

👉The Creator in *SHAMUT* (formerly Exodus) *3:15* says, “This is My Name Forever” *YAHUAH*🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
👉 The Creator said in *YISHAIYAHU* (formerly Isaiah) *43:11* “I, I am *YAHUAH* , and Besides Me There is No Other Savior”
Salvation is in one Name only and that Name is *YAHUAH* .

    *HAZUN* (formerly revelation) *12:9*
*9* So the great dragon was cast out of Heaven. The old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the entire world and leads them astray. He was thrown down to earth, and his messengers were thrown down with him.

The beast power, Shatan (notice that with the exception of the letter H, even Satan's name has not really changed much) had the Creator's Name changed in the Bible so that all who called on the wrong name and would be deceived and robbed of their salvation. Satan knows Scripture well and he knows that salvation is only in one Name and that Name is YAHUAH🔥.

I know it was kind of long, but for those seeking truth it was worth it.

  4. It is ironic that the Editor's note expresses that the church should not find it necessary to clarify details of their participation in the blessing of the buses and that the ritual of white rum sprinkling is not a part of Christian practice but the response above finds it necessary to at great length to expound on why they believe that Jesus is not the name of the Saviour.....
