Two years ago, I kept getting these nude pictures of this gentleman, and initially, I said he must be a sex pervert or he was looking for a same-sex partner. I received more messages, and I realized that the pictures and messages were intended for his female friend. I will not go into further details, but it is clear that each time he sent messages to his girlfriend, I got a copy.
He was lucky that I was the person who got those pictures, because another person could have used the pictures to extort funds from him.
Today I had an unusual experience using WhatsApp. Someone called me from overseas. After conversing for a while, the caller put me on hold to deal with another matter. I noticed that in WhatsApp, it said that I was in a group call. I was shocked.
The person who called me said that he did not add anyone to the call. I did not add anyone to the conversation, yet another person was on the call.
I checked and found out that the person in my contact was not the uninvited person on the call. Subsequently, I checked the internet, and I found out that other people are having similar challenges with WhatsApp. Click here to see other complaints.
If you have a similar experience, then add it as a comment at the end of the blog. If you are an expert in WhatsApp, let me hear from you. Many fake messages are being forwarded to people, and people are capturing other people's WhatsApp accounts.
Have a look at a picture taken from a screen capture of the call log.
You will notice that the picture taken of the log shows both calls coming in at the same time. I am not in a group with any of those persons.
I am making an appeal to the cellular phone companies not to reuse cell numbers too quickly. If you get a SIM card that was used by someone else, you could end up getting another person's account if that person had not set up two-tier security verification on their WhatsApp account.

Thanks for sharing it is soooo very coincidental that I was on a WhatsApp call overseas just now and at the end of our convo other persons were on they luckily were relatives of the person with whom I was talking and they were appalled too as they found themselves on a group chat which none of them made, something is going on with WhatsApp, it needs to be addressed now!!!0
ReplyDeleteYears ago my brother's phone was stolen but I did not delete the number. After a while the number was given to a new owner by the telephone company. Not remembering that the number was no longer my brother's, I called him on it 2 weeks ago and we spoke. I again called my brother a few days afterwards and someone else answered the call. He said that the number doesn't belong to my brother but it was his and he had it for a long time. How could I have made a WhatsApp call to one number and get 2 different persons on both occasions? I eventually deleted the number from my phone.
