Bird Flu Virus Close To Jamaica

Created Picture.

The Cayman Islands Government has reported the presence of the H5 avian influenza, or bird flu, in a bird in the Cayman Islands.

The virus was discovered when several dead turkeys were found on the island.

We need to hear from the Ministry of Health and Wellness in Jamaica on this matter because the Cayman Islands are next door to Jamaica.

People must ensure that they check with the authorities before taking birds or any other animals into the island. You could end up wiping out the few birds we have left.

If you know of anyone smuggling birds, animals, and plants into the island, report them immediately, or you can send me a WhatsApp message at 876 816-5261. We certainly cannot afford to wipe out any of our industries at this time.

  1. I think bird shooting should be outlawed in Jamaica, I don’t think we need to be killing off the birds for sport. The birds are neither over populated nor a nuisance to anybody, nor are they killed for food. The rich boys that are engaging in this nonsense are more than able to buy any kind meat they want.
    Leave the birds alone !
