| Leoda Bradshaw |
Leoda Bradshaw, who was charged with the murder of MP Phillip Paulwell's daughter and her mother, is supposed to have a trial this month. I wonder if we will have to wait for another two years or more.
I notice that the new DPP is mute. We need to hear from you, ma'am. Let's know what is happening to these cases. How many cases do we have in the courts awaiting trial for more than six months, one year and over three years?
| Joyland Silvera |
Is Mr Joyland Silver still spending time in His Majesty's hotel? This is the man who was arrested after his wife was found dead in her bed. How long will this case last? Suppose the man is innocent; he would have been punished for a crime he did not commit. This situation is untenable.
There have been other high-profile murders that occurred many years ago that I cannot recall anyone being arrested and convicted for. After a certain number of years, these cases go cold?
There is the case of Lloyd James, a VP for the now-defunct Air Jamaica. Mr James apparently left vital information with a media house. Was this document handed over to the police? There is also the case of another Air Jamaica executive, Noel Rennie, who was also murdered.
There was MP McGann, who was killed in the 1970's during an election campaign in Gordon Town, I believe. Did they arrest or convict anyone for that murder?
We have murdered approximately 45,000 people since 1976. How many of these cases have gone cold?
Are you aware of other cases that have gone cold? Send the details via WhatsApp to (876) 816-5261.
Congratulations to all who helped to bring down the murder rate last year. Let's bear in mind that as one murderer is killed, another is born.

Yes thanks for the reminder are some murders to die a natural death? The Judiciary needs to say something. They do pretty much what they want.
ReplyDeleteJamaica needs Justice Activists.
DeleteThe leaders must start with the Chief Justice and former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Paula Llewellyn until the New
DPP Claudette Thompson gets her footing.
Keep in mind that murder statistics will vary from year to year, and these numbers are subject to change.
ReplyDelete1962 = 63
2021 =1463
2022 = 1498
2023 = 1393
2024 = 1139
2025 = 673
We need murders to dissappear are we so mentally retarded that we run up and down daily killing each other.
Jamaicans killing Jamaicans,Blacks killing Blacks then we sing and dance to Murder Music rrrrrrr.
If we cannot eliminate murder as an Independent country what's all this talk about Republic.
Would it be good idea bringing back colonialism,Slavery or at best becoming a British Overseas Territory like a Cayman or Bermuda.Both are prosperous countries almost murder free.
Let's congratulate the JCF but lasting peace is more than policing.
How about growing the economy and reducing poverty,making Education more holistically relevant, reducing illiteracy with focus on males now the most illiterate group.
Health care,increased employment,transportation, Welfare for the needy,Values and attitudes socialization campaign for the whole country.
Let's therefore build on these gains in a holistic manner.
By the way is there a kind of ideology or set if ideas that guides government and the people of Jamaica.
If so what is that Government and opposition needs to declare their hands and minds going forward in 2026.
Wow I’m saddened reading this article and seeing my past coworker’s name Mr Lloyd James, makes me even more sad, such a mannerable, smart and hardworking gentleman he was, God isn’t sleeping🙏
ReplyDeleteThe system needs dewebbing. Most times, without public pressure, high profile cases get swept under the carpet.
ReplyDeleteWe need to ensure cases are not dragged on for years and decades. These pockets of dysfunction give opportunity to the corrupt and those who abuse the legal system by using money and influence. Justice should be for all, more so for the less fortunate and vulnerable.
A lot needs changing Not technological advancement but a change of attitude a change of thinking, a change of perspective.
Bring forward hanging and classify murder music Treason or advocating terrorism.

ReplyDelete45,000 Jamaicans murdered since 1976 so which period of Governance was most murderous per capita.
ReplyDeleteMichael Manley and Edward Seaga periods I am certain were the least murderous governmental period.
The last hangings were in 1988 under Edward Seaga.
They were two brothers found guilty of murdering a man I knew only as Busta a one eyed man from Bethel Town, in Eastern Westmoreland.
Busta was a good man a decent community boxer and farmer.
