From President Maduro To Prisoner Maduro?

From President Maduro to Prisoner Madura!

There was a buildup of tension between the US and Venezuela over the past few months. There were boats that the US fired on that were alleged to be carrying drugs, and there was an increase in US military activity around Venezuela. The US also got strategic support from other countries in the region. CNN is reporting that President Trump will be speaking on the issue today.

At this time, there is no certainty as to who is in charge of Venezuela. There is no official reaction from Russia and China. It is not expected to have any condemnation of the US invasion from countries in the Caribbean and South America because it is believed that Madura has very few friends in the area.

What is important is what happens to Venezuela after the extraction of its president. Some say that he was fraudulently elected. Will the opposition leader return? Will the government lose its legitimacy to lead, and fresh elections be called? Will the present government continue with Maduro policies? Will the Venezuelan opposition leader return to the country, and what impact will her return have? Will we see a drop in drug trafficking in the region, and what impact will it have on the Caribbean region?

The following is a CNN report:

CARICOM has issued a very general statement on the US invasion of Venezuela. That response gives me the feeling that CARICOM does not have a united position on this matter. The new Chair of CARICOM is The Hon. Dr Terrence Drew, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Venezuela has a large oil reserve, and it is possible that the incident could have a long term effect on the price of oil. Time will tell.

  1. Caricom cannot have a united position, when we have countries like Jamaica who worship the united states. What the USA has done is illegal. As usual they tell lies and bully their way into countries that can't match their military power.

That is why we have to be careful who we choose as leaders. USA is suffering under the whims of a madman. People see and know what he is doing is wrong, but refuse to fight against it. The same in jamaica. But hey, sometimes we have to suffer in order to learn. I guess Jamaica for now will avoid invasion as the powers that be worship the USA.

    Port Royal, beware.
