Citizens continue to complain about the number of sinkholes in Kingston and St. Andrew. I wonder if we are waiting until there is no road and we have to get a big contract to fix the whole road. The inability to maintain our roads properly is costing the country and taxpayers a significant amount of cash.
The following message was sent from a Bark Di Trute supporter:
Dear Vernon, this is the very wide pothole at the entrance of King's Way, turning in from Hope Road. Someone must have put in some gravel , but it's still holding up the traffic tremendously!
It's actually two potholes.
- Accidents caused when motorists swing out of potholes.
- Damage vehicles, which increases costs to motor vehicle owners.
- Impedes the flow of traffic.
- Cause motorists to burn more fuel.
- Encourages the breeding of mosquitoes.
- A danger to those who are not sighted.
