Sidewalk and Home Cuttings - Who Is Responsible?

I just got a report of trees that fell during Hurricane Melissa in Duhaney Park. If these trees were on the sidewalk, it is the responsibility of KSAMC and NSWMA to remove them. If the trees were in your yard and fell , then it is your responsibility to have them removed.

The NSWMA might oblige and remove those cuttings from your yard, and they might even charge you for doing so.

One action that should be avoided is cutting the trees and leaving the debris on the sidewalk. You could be fined for littering.

The last image is from the NSWMA, which is a notice to remove cuttings. Refusal to remove cuttings could result in the owner getting a summons to attend court. Upon conviction, you could be fined.
