Miss Katlene Reid, who was born in Montego Bay and lived in Denbigh, Clarendon, lived a full life. She was 101 years old when she passed on recently.
She has three children, fourteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Many would love to know the secret of her longevity, and if you asked her, she would have told you that she loves chicken and rice. Probably, if fast food were available when she was younger, then her life would have ended earlier.
At 101 years old, she saw Jamaica going through quite a bit, including the experience of World War II, Jamaica becoming independent, and living in an era when pickney had to have manners.
Grandma, you did well, and I know that your family and friends will have a beautiful send-off party for you.
