Young Jamaica rejects that explanation for the two-year delay proffered by Golding as implausible and fanciful. The Integrity Commission is mandated by law to publish notices confirming the certification of the Statutory Declarations submitted by both the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition.
It is a matter of public record that Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has challenged aspects of the Integrity Commission's handling of his Statutory Declarations through the Courts. That matter remains before the judiciary and is therefore subject to the sub judice principle.
However, no such legal proceedings have been cited by Golding as an explanation for the outstanding certification of his declarations. Accordingly, Young Jamaica reiterates its call for Golding to provide a full account of the circumstances surrounding this matter and to address the concerns that have arisen in the interest of transparency and public accountability.

I am still of the opinion that the Integrity Commission (IC) is a bureaucratic organization for some Jamaicans to earn a good salary. I would like to know how much it costs annually to have the Integrity Commission and how much it has saved Jamaica so far. We have enough institutions that can investigate and bring charges if a political leader or anyone is corrupt. The IC's main function seems to be to create fodder for political controversy.

The integrity commission leads among the Corruptfest Organizations feel good activities
ReplyDeleteCorruption is not a criminal activity it's a profitable feel good activity practiced be the upper echelons of the socioeconomic and political classes.
The lower classes are charged with actual crimes (behaviour that attract fines or imprisonment) like robbery,fraud ,shooting,rape etc.
The Integrity Commission calls it CORRUPTION at worst there are private reprimands,plenty talk and discussions.Some revision of procedures as the NATIONALLY acclaimed CORRUPFEST continues.
Upchucking at the constant tit for tat when there is so much to be done in this wannabe nation. We are losing it. And I am so sick of it.

Young JLP, your legal spin Doctors cannot clean the records of the PM. So remember this, TRUTH shall overcome DECEPTION, JUSTICE shall overcome CORRUPTION, and FACTS shall overcome FICTION. TIME longer than rope, so don't take it for a JOKE.
