Consumers And Businesses Have Legal Right To Install Solar Pannels And Batteries
The Utility Regulation and Competition Office (URCO), formerly OfReg, has issued a formal statement declaring that Cayman Islands homeowners and businesses have the legal right to install solar panels and battery storage for their own use, without needing to enroll in any special program or seek approval from the islands' electric utility, provided they don't send power back into the grid.
I hope that we don't start taxing them in Jamaica.

Cats Infected
The Ministry of Health, Environment and Sustainability, the Department of Agriculture, and the Public Health Department are advising the public of the detection of toxoplasmosis in a number of feral cats that were trapped and tested within the district of West Bay.
Car Being Stolen
The RCIPS said there has been an increase in vehicles reported stolen since the beginning of June 2026, with 8 reports received over the week ending 19 June. The majority of the incidents have occurred in George Town and Bodden Town, with West Bay also affected.
Most of the offenses were reported to have occurred during the early morning hours. In some incidents, the suspects appear to have gained access to the vehicles via external means, even though the vehicles were reported to be secured by their owners.
Most of the reports involved Honda models from the late 90s and early 2000s. Vehicles of other makes and models were also reported stolen. Two of the vehicles have since been recovered by the Police, but several remain outstanding.
I wonder if these cars are being exported.
