It is not just crime that has spiralled out of control over the years in Jamaica, but also the development of unplanned communities across the island.
With GPS, every house can be located and identified across the island. Using the ElandJamaica system, we should be able to identify the owners of these buildings and confirm if these buildings have been approved by the parish councils. It seems that the parish councils are helpless in dealing with the challenge.
We should also be able to identify all squatter settlements in the country. There is also a Squatter Management Unit in government. I wonder what they do.
In these communities that are just developing on their own, I understand that people build what and how they want. Areas are transformed into garages, and the benefit of these places is that many people do not pay for electricity. Other JPSCo customers pay their bills, and they do have a grand time using the electricity twenty-four-seven.
It was reported that there are many wires that are connected to JPSCo high-tension wires that are running on the ground. This is in Lime Tree, in Southern Trelawny. If nothing is done about this matter soon, then expect a death or deaths soon from electrocution in Lime Tree.
I tried to get the GPS location of the place, and I got this: 18° 14' 30.33" N 77° 29' 44.89" W. The pictures below show some of the vehicles on the property.
Note also that about 200 yards south, heading towards Christiana, there is a trailer which was left at the side of the road with a part protruding onto the road.

We are transforming Jamaica into one big dump. Soon we shall say goodbye to tourism. Tourists no longer visit those areas, as far as I know.

Foundation Fren say....we have a country that has a love affair with garbage . The in thing is to build as big, as high and as ostentatious as you can to show that you have become somebody. We on de "smaddyization" bandwagon. Den when you park wha car in front, you truly tun smaddy. As to tiefing light....JPS is just as compliant, as they have given up and just stress the legal and compliant user.
