A moderate magnitude 4.0 earthquake occurred in the Caribbean Sea near Grande Cayemite island, Haiti, in the evening of Thursday, Oct 8, 2026 at 8.59 pm local time (America/Port-au-Prince GMT -4). The quake had a very shallow depth of 5 km (3.1 mi) and was not felt (or at least not reported).
