Our Ancestors Cannot be Proud of Us When We Have Allowed Criminals To Control Us!

Corporal Christopher Smith

Gunmen killed a police officer, Corporal Christopher Smith, on Beechwood Avenue in St Andrew on Friday, December 6. Corporal Smith was assigned, to the Kingston Western police division.

The terrorists have no intention to stop their reign of terror, on society. I am convinced that too many of us are supporting these evil people, and we are quick to tear down those who sacrifice their lives to protect us rather than turn against the criminals. These criminals don't live in caves in remote areas.

We need an Anti-terrorist Act to deal with these homegrown terrorists who are terrorising society.

The police need to identify those who are a menace to the safety and security of society. We need a system where a court order is required to have these people report to the police. Terrorists who fall to report to the police should be treated as enemies of the state.

The names and pictures of terrorists should be published in booklet form, and distributed nationally. Their pictures should be posted on the Internet so we will all get to know them. Anyone who harbours terrorists or facilitates any activity with or for these terrorists should face very serious consequences.

The state must do all possible to remove these persons from the society. We need to go on a campaign to turn the people against these criminals.

At the same time, we need to look at family life in the country. We should have social workers whose job would to to ensure that children are being socialized properly at home. We need to have a strict code of conduct for all students.

We need to employ more social workers. Jamaica must address all activities which will lead to the poor socialization of our children.

Jamaica has taken too long to deal decisively with these criminals. Jamaica must act now! Consult with the people, get them to unite with the security forces and to take these dutty people out of the society.

It is time for the first murderer in a long time to face the death penalty. What crime did taxpayers commit to be forced to support these dawgs for life? Jamaica must wake up, speak up, and act NOW!

NWA Whatever You Do Put People at the Centre

Letter From A Supporter:

Dear Vernon.

I live on Stony Hill Road near the intersection of Stony Hill Road and New Stony Hill Road.

I was awakened at 3:15 this MORNING by the sound of the engines of stationary heavy trucks, horns and the incessant beeping sound made by two different heavy vehicles reversing.

I am tempted to go out to the road but it is still dark.  I strongly suspect that this is the National Works Agency working on Constant Spring Road between 9pm and 4am.

The release had said that they would start at Ministry of Justice on Constant Spring Road, and end at Manor Park.

The area where all this raucousness is occurring is not Manor Park.

There is only 1 dwelling (domestic) house left on Constant Spring Road which is almost across the road from the big Scotiabank building between Mary Broen’s Corner and Msnor Park. There being only 1 dwelling house makes it ideal for the NWA to do night work.

But going above Manor Park towards Stony Hill along Stony Hill Road is a residential area where it is UNREALISTIC AND UNREASONABLE to do road work at 3 am. Whose idea was this!?!?!

I work hard!!! I need to sleep!!!!! I kid you not, this is like being in a concentration camp!!! I am trying to sleep amid all this noise!!!! And the fumes too!

Please tell Mr Stephen Shaw that this is not okay.  I cannot manage this. We cannot manage this.

It is 4 am and they just left but I am now fully awake and breathless (the fumes got to me) and coughing and FULLY AWAKE.

Please investigate what is going on with this. Are the coming back tomorrow at 3am?

Thanks,

Sleepless in Stilwell Road

Editors Note:

The NWA, National Works Agency, should send a letter of apology to the residents of the area for the disturbance and the sleepless night the people endured.

This blog will be sent to Mr. Everton Hunter, the head of the NWA.

Strengthening Water Security and Sanitation Services?

Press Release From The Office of The Prime Minister 20241205:

Talia Gibson

The Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation (MEGJC) is ramping up efforts to strengthen water security and sanitation services across Jamaica, recognising water as a cornerstone of economic growth and development.

Speaking on the Ministry’s latest episode of the MEGJC 360, Acting Senior Director of the Water Policy and Monitoring Branch, Talia Gibson, emphasised the critical role of water to national development.

“All the activities that we do are geared towards ensuring water security for the general population as well as the overall country, because we have to look to support  key areas such as agriculture, tourism, infrastructure development, which overall aids in economic growth and development of the country”, she explained.

Key achievements for the Ministry and its Agencies include the National Drought Mitigation Programme, which provides critical water storage solutions such as black tanks and water trucks to communities during periods of drought, or in areas without piped water.  These interventions ensure that vulnerable populations have access to a reliable water supply during challenging times.

“We are committed to making water accessible, even in the most remote areas. Initiatives like this not only support the immediate needs of our citizens but also build resilience in the face of climate change”, she noted.

In terms of policy guidelines and legislative support, Mrs. Gibson stated that the National Water Resources Master Plan is being advanced, outlining comprehensive strategies for the effective management of Jamaica’s water resources.

She added that the Branch will also seek to operationalise a monitoring and evaluation framework to track the progress of the National Water Sector Policy and Implementation Plan which will support the water Agencies in achieving the goals of the policy.

“This monitoring and evaluation framework, will allow us to learn from our experiences, adapt where necessary, and adjust priorities to stay aligned with the national development needs and the sustainable development goals applicable to the sector.  We will also look at updating or revising the National Water Sector Policy within the next two to three years, thus ensuring that it remains relevant and effective in addressing the country's water management challenges”, she stated.

Mrs. Gibson added that through these initiatives, the Government is not only addressing immediate water needs but laying the foundation for long term sustainability while supporting Jamaica’s broader economic and social development goals.

The Police and The Transport Authority Officers Did Not Chase Illegal Taxi Operator

Two students were killed on December 2, 2024, when an illegal taxi they were travelling in crashed. The accident was between a Toyota Probox taxi and a Subaru motor car.

Some traditional media houses and social media gave the impression that the accident resulted from a chase by police and Transport Authority officers.

The taxi driver and the vehicle owner should be responsible for all medical and other expenses. Taxpayers cannot continue to bear this cost.

For the first time, hear directly from Petra-keene Williams the other side of the story. Click on the picture below:

What The Hell is Going On!

 Shooting In Homestead

I understand that there was a shooting in the Homestead area in St. Catherine, and citizens resorted to blocking the roads and burning tyres this morning. Soon we will have a demonstration about the condition of the roads. This practice of burning tires and blocking roads must stop, and the state must end it.

This type of behaviour should be a last resort. We have institutions to deal with the matter. Blocking and damaging our roads is all about cutting off our noses to spite of faces.

Shooting in Barbican

Barbican Road

It was reported to Bark Di Trute that three people were shot in Barbican today and one has died. I have no report from the police about this matter. Until further advised by the police it is best not to travel in that area.

Bomb Threat at Halfway Tree Court House

I have not received any further information about the alleged bomb threat at the Halfway Tree Court House today.

Carol McKare Hines, known as Scotty, who grew up in Lime Tree Trelawny in Jamaica, has passed on. His family was well known in Trelawny, where his parents operated a bar and a grocery. Many will remember the popular jukebox, which used to provide music for fans at the back of the business place. In those days, when there was no public electricity supply, the Hines had their generator plant for producing electricity.

Scotty attended Clarendon College in Spalding and leaves wife Barbara, brothers Bertram and Phillip, also sisters Audrey and Joan. His children are Richard, Shawn Jamil, and Chad.
