Promoting Your Event Your Business or Yourself and Supporting Bark Di Trute

It continues to be a struggle to maintain the Bark Di Trute blog, even though I continually ask for support. I get moral support, support in terms of articles submitted and information about what is happening on the ground. Over the years, thousands of people have benefited from the work, but only a handful have been willing to assist financially with this costly and time-consuming effort.

Bark Di Trute is also doing other things to earn the additional income required to keep the work going. One of these is to promote events and activities. We can also tell people about your business or profession.

If you are having an event, here are some other ways to promote the event.
  • Bark Di Trute can produce a video promoting the event. This video can be distributed via WhatsApp and email.
  • You can give tickets away on the site to lucky winners.
  • Bark Di Trute can voice your commercials.

Contact Bark Di Trute at 876 816-5261 by WhatsApp for more information.

The following are examples of what we can do to assist you with promotions:

Gospel Singer and Songwriter Diamara Neil-Walker For Jazz & Cabaret in The Gardens

Gospel singer and songwriter Diamara Neil-Walker has been added to the list of artistes for Jazz In The Gardens on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

This is another talented artiste which the Jazz & Cabaret In The Gardens team has selected to be in the line-up. This Jamaican-based gospel singer and songwriter will give you that soulful feeling and has a smooth voice. She will deliver those bluesy notes that will lift your spirit in that beautiful garden setting at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.

Her mother is known as a singer, and her father knows how to be creative with his guitar and he also sings. Music is in her DNA.

Diamara is familiar with the Jazz in the Gardens stage. She explored writing poetry and music when she resided in the United Kingdom in the 1990s. On returning to Jamaica, she established herself as the lead singer for the band Air Play. Fans were mesmerized by her musical talents when she hit the Reggae Sunsplash stage. She also performed at the Ocho Rios Jazz Festival.

How can I forget that she was the 2015 JDC Gospel Festival Song Winner?  Don't miss Jazz in the Gardens on Sunday, April 6, 6,2025, when Diamara Neil-Walker joins the team of other talented artistes in the Pegasus Gardens for a night to remember.

An Enchanting Evening at The British High Commission in Kingston Jamaica - Screening of 'Small Island'.

The British High Commissioner, for Jamaica, Judith Slater, invited a few guests to screen the film of the play, Small Island by Andrea Levy. This was on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

The film takes an interesting look at the Windrush phenomenon of people from the Caribbean leaving for England after World War II. In a very creative and interesting way, the play looks at the movement of black people from Jamaica to the motherland. Many went to Britain hoping for a better life. They had a rude awakening when they experienced certain challenges.  Britain needed these people to assist in building their country after the war.

The play looks at the dashed hopes of the professionals who migrated, the racial challenges that existed at that time, and the difficulty many faced fitting into British society. It also showed the good sides of those in Britain who welcomed the blacks from the islands. There is also the interesting twist of a white woman who had a child for a black man while her husband was away. and was not in touch with her.

The scene where the white woman went into labour and had to call on the black woman to deliver her black child was beautifully handled by the actors.

It was a film of a play, but at times it felt like I was watching a movie. Small Island is not just a play; it's history; it's about the sociological challenges at the time and a clash of cultures.

We were delighted to hear a few Jamaican folk songs in the play.

It was an evening well spent, especially for those who had a few beers or sipped some wine while watching the film. The British High Commissioner's majestic-looking residence is situated on well-laid-out grounds and well-manicured lawns. The building is a work of art accented by the lovely latticework. It's a reminder of the great houses that once dotted our landscape during the colonial days.

Prime Minister's Budget Speech 2025

This is the election year 2025, and Prime Minister Andrew Holness made his presentation on Thursday, March 20. The PM seemed ready for battle with the PNP. Although this election will be a peaceful battle, it will be deadly.

There was confusion with the caption on the TVJ screen during the PM's budget speech.

What does 'MT' stand for? It is the first time I have seen that abbreviation. I believe the national title should come first. The PM should therefore be addressed as The Most Honourable, Dr Andrew Holness, ON, PC, MP. The doctorate is just a degree from a university, and that should not come before the national title.

The caption was changed subsequently to Dr The Most Honourable Andrew Holness, ON, PC, MP.

This is the year of goodies and also changes. Add your comments as to what you think about the Prime Minister's budget presentations.
