Recall Of Sugar Produced by Pan Caribbean Sugar Company

Press Release From The Ministry of Health, April 23, 2026

The Ministry of Health & Wellness is advising members of the public not to consume packaged sugar produced by the Pan Caribbean Sugar Company. This follows, as a preliminary laboratory test has identified metal fragments in samples of this brand of sugar purchased at retail outlets, which may pose a significant health risk if ingested.

The public is therefore asked to safely discard this brand of sugar and await further updates from the Ministry of Health & Wellness.

An immediate stop order has been placed on the production, distribution and sale of all Pan Caribbean Sugar Company products.

Further investigations are underway, and the Ministry of Health and Wellness will provide official updates once laboratory results confirm that any food safety risks have been resolved and the product is safe for consumption.

Editor's Note

If you still have the receipt for the sugar, return the sugar to the vendor and ask for a refund. Keep a copy of the receipt just in case you might need it as proof of purchase if you become ill.

The company might have to compensate you for any medical expenses you might incur as a result of using this sugar.

While it is good to put these things on social media, this matter should have been reported to the relevant authorities long ago. If the material in the sugar was poisonous, then several people would have died.

The company should identify the batch numbers to be returned.

Let The Death Penalty Live!

We need the death penalty for premeditated murders now! Some will argue that the death penalty will not stop the murders. If we buy that argument, then we should have no penalties for crimes in the world, because people continue to commit crimes. We could start by abandoning the practice of issuing traffic tickets, because it has neither stopped poor driving habits nor reduced the number of lives lost on our roads.

Our first challenge is to make sure that we can arrest and convict those murderers. We should then have a system that would take only a year to resolve those cases in court.

Anyone who protects or intimidates a witness in a murder case should either get the death penalty or a life sentence at hard labour on conviction.

You will notice that the murder rate has dropped over the past year, while the police killings have gone up. We need to know if the police wiping out some of these murderers has had an impact on the annual number of murders in Jamaica. If the state refuses to implement the death penalty, then jungle justice will continue, and the police will get rid of them. Jungle justice and extrajudicial killings are wrong because innocent lives can be lost. That is why it behooves us to reintroduce the death penalty.

Locking up a murderer for life is to punish the taxpayers, who will have to be responsible for the upkeep of a prisoner for life.

Some argue that man not give life; therefore, he should not take life. Give that argument to the murderers.

We need a system where, working with the courts, we can identify those who might be associated with committing murders. Their pictures should be circulated to the whole of Jamaica so that they cannot hide from anyone. (Now we understand the importance of NIDs) If they fail to report to a police station within six months, then the police will not guarantee that they will be brought to court alive. They could be taken to the hospital and then to the morgue. We would now see them as local terrorists.

Those who are sorry for murderers will only change when someone close to them has been killed. Some of us who are in positions of power might not support the death penalty since our relatives and friends could end up on death row. We talk about CARICOM speaking with one voice; Jamaicans need to speak with one voice in dealing with these cold and heartless murderers. Let the death penalty come alive.

All premeditated murderers are to be treated as adults and treated equally except for children under 12 years old. The judge would decide when someone should face the death penalty based on the facts presented in the case and the pleas put forward by the DPP and the opinions of close relatives. Any assets owned by the murderer should be forfeited by the state and placed in the estate of the victim

Our Leaders Are Joking! Death Penalty For Murderers

What A News!

News

WESTERN BUREAU: A jubilant church service in Montego Bay, St James, was shattered by gunfire on Wednesday, leaving a choir member dead at the doorway as worshippers screamed “Jesus! Jesus!” and fled in panic. The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Cora Thompson, a member of the New Testament Church of God on Water Lane in St James, where she worshipped and sang on the choir. Thompson resided at Humber Avenue in Montego Bay with her 12-year-old son.

What is the solution?

What's Happening - April 22, 2026

From Bark Di Trute Supporters

A reader says that Debbie Bissoon, in a TVJ interview about a 1-year-old child with hydrocephalus, pronounced "hydrocephalus" as "hydrocophalus."

Debbie, check on that one. Debbie is a very charming person who does well on TV.

Another Bark Di Trute supporter says the following:

Hi Vernon, Thank you for your blog. I think it yielded good attention from the MP, so we will see if any action is taken. All I know is Manor Park and its surrounding area is like a slum.

But thank you, Vernon. You are a champion. Jamaica needs more of you.

Search Warrant For The Wrong Place!

You will recall the blog about those police officers who went to carry out a search warrant, and the name on the search warrant was different from the names of the occupants.

An initial report has been sent to the commissioner of police, and a detailed report will be sent to the relevant state officials.

These rogue cops should be excluded from the force as soon as possible. I know that some were just members of the team, and they had no control.

I got an interesting bit of information this afternoon and that is the owner of the house has a son who is a corporal in the police force. There seems to be more to this story. Probably that is what saved the day.

Another Lawyer

One newspaper has indicated that the police have declared lawyer Debbid-Ann Samuels as a person of interest. I wonder why the police are interested in her. I hope she sees the notice and reports to the police immediately.

Violence In Schools

Let me remind my readers that over the past thirty years or more, several students have been killed and abused by other students. When are we going to put a stop to this problem in our schools?

The latest murder incident occurred at Seaforth High School, and the school administration has been silent on the matter. The JTA head and other leaders are also silent. The violence is taking place in several schools. Videos have been circulated about Belair High and Excelsior High School. There could be other students involved, but those videos are not available.

ABC star James Valentine, 64, dies by Euthanasia

Legendary ABC Radio Sydney broadcaster James Valentine, a musician and a broadcaster, was a household name in Australia. He developed cancer, and he used voluntary assisted dying after his long illness.

Voluntary assisted dying is offered to people who are terminally ill and who are capable of making the decision to end their lives.

While assisted suicide is not legal in all countries, it is legal under certain circumstances in some countries, including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Luxembourg, most of Australia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, and parts of the United States.

Jamaica College Old Boys Meeting

Bark Di Trute understands that there should have been a Jamaica College old boys' association meeting this afternoon to discuss the cases of boys being beaten at Jamaica College. Sources tell me there was no meeting.

The old boys should realize that this is a matter for the administration to deal with, and I saw their involvement as interfering. These incidents of violence over the past few days are operational matters which the school administration should be dealing with, rather than some old boys bullying Bark Di Trute and putting out press releases and speaking for the school.

Jamaica College is in trouble. There are conflicts at the level of the board and also among the old boys. Tomorrow, one matter will be dealt with in the Supreme Court. More to come!

Young Jamaica Condemns MP Dennis Gordon For Refusing To Sit Before A Committee of Parliament

Dennis Gordon MP

Young Jamaica, the youth arm of the governing Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), notes with great concern the reported decision by People’s National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament for St. Andrew East Central, Dennis Gordon, to decline an invitation to appear before Parliament’s Ethics Committee.

The Ethics Committee plays a vital role in safeguarding integrity and accountability in public life. When legitimate questions arise concerning statements or disclosures made by a public official, it is both appropriate and necessary that such matters be addressed through established parliamentary mechanisms.

Gordon’s reported refusal to appear before the Committee represents a direct challenge to the principles of good governance and accountability. It undermines the authority of the Committee and, by extension, the institutional role of Parliament in ensuring that public officials are held to account.

In light of recent and troubling media reports concerning Mr. Gordon and his JACDEN Group, particularly in connection with the ongoing tax exemption scandal at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), it is evident that significant questions remain unanswered and warrant full and transparent examination.

Young Jamaica repeats its call for PNP President Mark Golding to demand the resignation of Dennis Gordon as MP. His continued conduct and public statements raise serious concerns and fall short of the standards of accountability and propriety expected of holders of public office.

Editors Note

Can the committee summon any citizen to attend a hearing? There are certain matters that should not require a long discussion—resignation is a first option.

Police and Searches

Unless the law empowers the security forces to search certain designated areas, the police should have a search warrant to search people's homes, and they should show the search warrant to the occupants/owners of the house prior to beginning the search. Ensure that you get at least one name and the number for one of the officers who are participating in the search.

If the police have a search warrant to search your premises, take out your phone and video record their activities. Remember that not all police officers have body cameras. Do not say anything to the police unless asked. Do not make any uncomplimentary remarks while the police are carrying out the search. You can record your voice comments while the officers are carrying out their operations.

If the police stop you from recording, then you need to call 119/911 and speak to a supervisor.

After the search, make an estimate of any damage done to your premises and its contents. If you have been assaulted, visit a doctor soon after. You must consult a lawyer. You can talk to Bark Di Trute after, assuming that you are alive. That reminds me, you might have to consider broadcasting the search just in case your phone is seized and/or you are not alive to tell the tale.

Police House Search Reported By A Bark Di Trute Supporter

Have a look at the edited video of a search conducted by the police. Bark Di Trute has edited out names and pictures of occupants.

The Commissioner of Police needs to help me understand these:

  1. Officers went into this house early in the morning, and the occupants of the house had to ask repeatedly to be shown the search warrant.
  2. The search warrant they showed to the occupants had a different name from the names of the occupants.
  3. The police, when questioned about the difference, said the search warrant was for a syndicate of houses.
  4. Can a search warrant be issued for a syndicate (sic) of houses?

Share this blog and think about these things because you could be next.

More to come!

Hot Head Police

I wonder if this case has been dealt with. We cannot have our officers behaving like this. I believe this happened over a year ago.

Pronunciation on TVJ

A Bark Di Trute supporter says that "legend" was pronounced /leegend/ yesterday during sports news. Probably that is a new word.

Our leaders, police officers, educators, and others continue to say, "I would have," inappropriately.

People continue to say /derbi/ when Derby is pronounced /darbi/.

Jamaica College Still In The News

I understand that the Jamaica College old boys met on Tuesday, April 21. They will meet again today. I wonder what they hope to achieve. There is only one solution for Jamaica College, which will make it great again.

Some of those press releases sent out by the school are inappropriate. In situations like this, you not only need a good lawyer but also a good PR person. A good PR person can help to ensure you do not put your foot in your mouth. I find it interesting that the chairman is now sending out press releases. Has the principal, who is the operational head, been relieved of some of his functions?

The Killing Of A Seaforth High Student

A ministry official said that the boys were having issues before. Criminals in school or in the community are always at war. It is possible that the school administrators did not see them as young criminals who should have been removed from the school long ago. Schools cannot be holding places for young criminals. Can you imagine how much taxpayers have paid for their education over the years, and now they will have to meet the cost of a trial and the possible cost of incarceration?
