Jamaica Ex- Police Association of South Florida (USA) Supports Jamaica

On Friday, May 21, 2026, members of the Jamaica Ex-Police Association of South Florida (JEPA) completed several charity projects in the Parish of St. Elizabeth.

JEPA members, with their president, Sheryl Marsh, and former presidents Avis Jarrett-Miller, Roy Bennett, and Malachi Smith, along with other members of the 34-year-old South Florida-based organization, visited the Black River Police Station, the Police Convalescence Home in Black River, and Peacock Heights, New Town, and Black River. JEPA awarded two of our three Jamaican scholarships and presented gifts to the Black River Police, the Convalescence Home, and hurricane supplies, including tarpaulins, hammers, nails, paint brushes, corking materials, screwdrivers, clothing, and other gifts to families in Peacock Heights, New Town, and Black River. Members also paid a special visit to a female ex-police officer, who is a major social media influencer but is now admitted to the Black River Hospital with a major illness.

The group participated in Labour Day projects in Bog Walk and at the May Pen Police Station.

On Tuesday, May 27, the group hosted its Adopt a Basic School for a Day Project at the Burnt Savannah Basic School. The following day, the group concluded its mission at the Strawberry District in Westmoreland. The third scholarship was awarded there.

Customer Service In Jamaica - Urgent Surgery Needed!

Contributer

Back on the flow line after speaking to a customer care lady in South Africa. We had a great chat; it was the best customer care I have ever received. All the way in South Africa, not even in the Caribbean region. This is saying something.

"Unnu nuh know nutten bout customer or caring fi custama dem".

Or let's say it sour like Lime.  Now Flow wants to make it sweet like sugar without tax. What an indictment of our population.

Jamaica needs urgent surgical attention for healing Customer Care Cancer (CCC) in Jamaica. Not only in Tourism but all industries and sectors. How about Flow having a special package for the aged, old, loyal customers over 60/65 retirees?

Stop ignoring those grandfathers and mothers from the days of original Cable and Wireless. Special discounts for the loyal senior citizens in Jamaica. 50% off and 10% GCT; discuss with the Minister of Finance for GCT approval.

Start discussions

"NO GCT".

Again, thanks to Flow South Africa customer care personnel.

Michael Spence

Challenges As Usual On Our Roads

When it is not the potholes and general road conditions, it is the behaviour of other motorists that makes it difficult to traverse our roadways. I just received a report that the two tag lanes at the Portmore Toll are not working.

This situation is creating havoc at a time when the traffic is heavy on the toll road. Is it that we do not have competent people to fix the problem?

Information should be shared with the public so that drivers are prepared to pay by cash.

Bark Di Trute made contact with the Toll Authority and was informed that the tag lanes are now working.

Scotia ABMs A Pain...

The following is a message from a Scotia Bank Customer:

Good morning, Sir Vernon. It is in the Savanna-La-Mar area. I went inside the branch and even the teller was stunned by the question. I asked; she said sometimes they have up line up all who are doing deposit inside the bank and let them go because the machine are just not working.

She told that the machines are going to be fixed or maybe changed. I would rather Scotia Bank get rid of those and bring machines that will not spit out your card or your money. Simply as that! Thanks again Sir Vernon. Highly appreciated!
