Is Argentina A Racist Society?

Contributed

Michael Spence

Argentina visibly has no Afro-Argentinian player on their teams, a result of an embedded program of "Racial Erasure". With a history of "racial erasure," a great effort has been made to erase persons of African origin.

In the Argentinian population of about 46 million, less than 1%, about 305,000, self-identify as being of African origin.

In the 20th century, more than 6 million Europeans entered Argentina, and disease killed more Black people, and the slave population was never as high as in Brazil, the USA, or the Caribbean.

That accounts for no person of African origin on the football team. Is Argentina a racist society is the big question that must be answered.

Argentina is not inherently a racist society, but it makes every effort to promote a white European racist identity.

Is Argentina a racist society? You decide.

Editor's Note

I wonder how many Jamaicans support Argentina.

Accountability Framework For Health Sector

Press Release From The Ministry of Health and Wellness, July 10, 2026

Minister Christopher Tufton

Minister of Health & Wellness, Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton, CD, MP, has secured the support of some 20 unions and professional associations representing workers across Jamaica's public health sector for the Ministry's Accountability Framework, following a meeting on Wednesday (July 8).

The meeting, which brought together representatives from a wide cross-section of the country's public health workforce, provided an opportunity for open and constructive dialogue on the Accountability Framework and its role in strengthening governance, improving service delivery, and enhancing the overall performance of the public health system.

Dr. Tufton welcomed the engagement, describing it as another important milestone in the Ministry's efforts to build a stronger, more transparent and responsive health sector.

"The Accountability Framework is about ensuring that every part of our public health system is equipped and empowered to deliver the highest standard of service to the Jamaican people. It is not about assigning blame or creating unnecessary bureaucracy. Rather, it is about establishing clear expectations, strengthening leadership, improving performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement," Dr. Tufton said.

The representatives of the unions and professional associations participated actively in the discussions, raised important issues, and expressed their support for the principles and objectives of the Framework.

"The consensus reached today demonstrates that we all share the same goal—a stronger public health system that delivers quality care for every Jamaican. I am encouraged by the willingness of our unions and professional associations to partner with the Ministry as we implement these reforms," added Dr. Tufton.

The Accountability Framework forms part of the Ministry's broader programme to strengthen governance across the public health system by improving oversight, enhancing operational efficiency, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and promoting greater accountability at every level.

The Framework also supports improved performance management, reinforces sound financial and administrative practices, and seeks to create a culture where excellence, transparency, and patient-centred care are embedded throughout the health sector.

During the meeting, stakeholders agreed that meaningful accountability is essential to sustaining public confidence in the healthcare system and ensuring that health professionals are supported in delivering safe, effective, and timely care.

President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ), Mrs. Dawn-Marie Richards, who was present, noted that “the Framework is a bold step towards accountability by all and will ensure that standard operating procedures are maintained and that there will be favourable outcomes for all stakeholders in the service delivery process. This may be a new phenomenon for some, but I am confident that this accountability framework will enable us to provide the service that we are called to do.”

Dr. Tufton thanked the unions and professional associations for their constructive participation and reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to continued consultation as implementation progresses.

The Ministry of Health & Wellness will continue its engagement with stakeholders across the sector as it advances the implementation of the Accountability Framework and other initiatives aimed at strengthening Jamaica's public healthcare system.

Editor's Note

Now that we have the framework, what matters now is whether we have a system that rewards those who perform, and those who do not will have to pack their bags and go. There is still a need to have a public service inspection branch for the whole public sector. The complaints about the public sector are numerous. The next department to touch is the National Housing Trust.

Digital War Against Jamaica

Jamaica is under attack by some members of the social media community in Jamaica and overseas. I am amazed at the type of false information that is being spread across the world about Jamaica.

Jamaicans here and overseas must help to fight these digital terrorists. Report them to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other social media for posting misleading information on their sites. Eventually it will negatively impact the credibility of these sites.

This is just a part of the video shown above. Based on what this man said, it seems as if someone stole the whole budget of Jamaica! These people have a plan, and it would be interesting to know what that plan is.

These Terrorists

Social media is busy showing these pictures because the police were anxious to talk to these guys. The police officers were also investigating this incident shown below in the video.

The car shown below is alleged to have been operated by these men. They were busy visiting gas stations in Kingston, relieving them of funds and injuring workers.

The police sent out this information shown below:

Bark Di Trute understands that the police have sent a few of these men to their maker.

There are too many terrorists in our country, and we need to know them. The police should have a database of all suspects on the island. These suspects should be asked to contact the police. If they don't make contact with the police, then the court should rule that they are fugitives.

There is only one way to deal with fugitives effectively. Just remember that approximately 50,000 people have been murdered since 1962 in Jamaica, and we are not at war. What has happened to the death penalty? We are a nation of jokers!

Minister Daryl Vaz's Statement In Response To Settlement Of Slander Case With Dr Dayton Campbell

Minister Daryl Vaz

Daryl Wesley Phillip Vaz is the Jamaica Labour Party MP for Portland Western. Since 2020, he has served as the Minister for Energy, Telecommunications and Transport.

He was born in St. Andrew Parish, Jamaica, to Douglas and Sonia Vaz. His father is a former president of the Jamaica Manufacturers Association and a former Minister of Industry and Commerce.

Vaz attended Mona Preparatory, Campion College, and Miami Dade Community College in Miami, Florida.

Politics is in his blood, but rumours about matters have dogged his political career. In recent times, rumours have been circulating that all these politicians are corrupt. Credence is given to this when the Integrity Commission puts out information that several politicians are being investigated for illicit enrichment. This has led to some claiming that there is no integrity in the Integrity Commission and for people to suspect all politicians.

This is a dangerous trend in politics since these rumours can lead to a loss of confidence in the democratic system, and this can be the wrong road to follow. This does not mean that some politicians are not corrupt. Let's catch the guilty ones and deal with them, and not throw a blanket over all politicians.

For about 40 years, politician Daryl Vaz has suffered from a rumour that became fact for many people. He was accused by many of committing rape and murder of someone in Jamaica. He was not present in Jamaica when this happened.

Mr Dayton Campbell made damaging statements on a political platform in 2023 relating to the rumour about this rape case. Mr Vaz took the matter to the Supreme Court, and all parties agreed to a settlement. Mr Campbell agreed to take actions to indicate that what was said about Mr. Vaz was not true. The following is a reaction from Minister Daryl Vaz.

Those who post slanderous statements on the Internet could find themselves in hot waters. in the future. It should be a criminal offense for anyone who knowingly publishes false information on the Internet that is intended to mislead the public.
