Where Are They Now?

I understand that designer Paul Hamilton was hit by a motor vehicle downtown Kingston, and he suffered serious injuries. He is in the hospital.

Readers have been asking for people like Ruddy Soencer, Dr Paul Ashley, Dotty Dean, Al Plummer, Teddy Price, Pauline Stone-Myrie, Marie Garth, and Christopher Seaga

If there are others you would like to hear about, just add their names to the comment at the bottom of the blog.

If you have any information about any of these people or others who were known publicly, please send me a WhatsApp message at 876 816-5261.

Muting Bark Di Trute And Getting Rid Of The Pings

A few Bark Di Trute supporters will be disturbed by the pings at night when the messages come in from Bark Di Trute. You can mute Bark Di Trute alerts. Remember that Bark Di Trute is international, and there are different time zones in the world.

To mute Bark Di Trute, do the following:

  1. Select Bark Di Trute from your chat.
  2. Click on the Bark Di Trute name at the top of the screen.
  3. Select Notifications from the menu that drops down.
  4. Select Mute Always.
You will no longer get a ping when a Bark Di Trute message comes in.

A significant amount of information comes in at night, and I have to do the editing and graphics so my supporters can get the information as they get up in the morning, especially for North and South America and the Caribbean.

If a ping is waking you up, that could mean you are not in a deep sleep at night. Sleep challenges should be dealt with urgently. You might need to discuss this with a medical professional.

Alert - Weather Pattern, Disturbance 1

There is Disturbance 1 in the Atlantic. See the National Hurricane Centre report below.

Central Subtropical Atlantic: A trough of low pressure located in the central Subtropical Atlantic is associated with a broad area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are currently not favorable for development of this system due to strong upper-level winds.

However, conditions could become more favorable for some slow development by the middle to latter part of this week as the system moves generally west-northwestward across the central part of the Subtropical Atlantic.

Philharmonic Orchestra of Jamaica, Music In The Air 3 - 2026

A Bark Di Trute supporter went to see the Philharmonic Orchestra of Jamaica perform at the Hope Gardens last Sunday, after seeing the notice on the Bark Di Trute Blog promoting the event. He was very impressed with the show. I hope that we can have more shows like that so the young people can be exposed to this type of music.

Report By Cecil Johnson

The Philharmonic Orchestra of Jamaica (POJ) staged Music in the Air 3, a free open-air concert at the historic Hope Royal Botanical Gardens Shell Bandstand. The cultural event drew a sizable crowd that filled both the formal seating area and the expansive surrounding lawns. Patrons brought lawn chairs and picnic blankets, creating a relaxed, family-friendly environment that made classical orchestral music highly accessible in a casual public setting.

The curated programme seamlessly blended orchestral arrangements with powerful vocal performances. Featured guest soloists—tenor Rodari Simpson and soprano Indira Pérez Valdés—delivered standout showcases alongside talented young instrumentalists. As twilight faded, dynamic stage lighting transformed the Shell Bandstand into a visually striking evening backdrop. The audience remained highly engaged throughout the evening, proving that symphonic music thrives when integrated into welcoming community spaces.

Music in the Air 3 was a highly successful cultural showcase, offering a refreshing and sophisticated alternative to Jamaica's mainstream commercial entertainment. By pairing live classical masterworks with the natural aesthetic of Hope Gardens, the organizers united a diverse audience for a shared community experience. The free-admission model, sustained through voluntary contributions and support from corporate foundations, effectively removed socio-economic barriers and fostered broad public participation.
