Major Water Challenges in Queensborough - Vernon Derby

Possible millions of gallons go to waste in Kingston because of broken mains.
It is amazing that when there is a power cut we call for reports from the JPS yet persons in Queensborough in Kingston, for over a month have been living without a reliable supply of water. Sometimes the area is without water for up to three days.

Today is Saturday, March 24, 2018 and the area is without water for the second day.

Newly elected MP Dr. Nigel Clarke needs to communicate to the people in the area and advise them as to what action he has taken to have the situation dealt with. I know that Councillor Vernon McLeod has written to the head of the NWC. Our political representatives and the NWC needs to update the residents in the area. The respect shown to the residents in the area during this water crisis has been at ground level.
This area at the corner of Queensborough and Molynes
 Road was fixed recently.

Residents are aware that the NWC is upgrading its infrastructure in the area but many times the lack of water seems to have nothing to do with the upgrading the infrastructure. Sometimes mains have been broken and the same area have to be fixed again. Recently NWC did infrastrure work at the end of Queensborough Avenue near to Molynes Road  and within a week the area had to be dug up again. Many roads have been destroyed because the NWC has to dig up the road in order to replace broken pipes.

Persons are claiming that the area is being sabotaged by those working for the NWC. One should not be surprised by this speculation because little information is going out about the water challenges in the area.

You will notice that heavy traffic some mornings on our road. I believe that with many persons not being able to access water in the mornings, are leaving out later for work.

NWC needs to let us know if they are having challenges with the upgrading of their infrastructure. Minister Chang needs to tell us when they will start changing out the old asbestos pipes in the area.

Someone need to talk to the residents in Queensborough and let the know what is happening.
