Tax Payer Writes To Minister

Dear Hon. Minister Williams,

Greetings.

The above Article, refers.

May I ask you to mention to the Hon. Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Dr. Nigel Clarke, to kindly ensure that senior citizens be permitted to undertake more than 3 (three) transactions at a time when visiting Jamaica's Tax Offices.

To my utter amazement and complete annoyance, an Officer at the Constant Spring Tax Office (St Andrew) indicated that I would only be permitted to do 3 (three) - I had four transactions to be executed.  I quietly stood my ground; maintaining my dignity, refused to move until the fourth was accepted. He huffed and puffed, then reluctantly took the fourth.  Apparently, he expected me to take another number to undergo a further exasperating, interminable wait.

We senior citizens have paid our dues (i.e., contributed to this country - Jamaica), thus we should be allowed to do at least 6 (six) transactions at any one visit.

I thank you, Hon. Minister Williams and Hon. Dr. Nigel Clarke, for your urgent kind review and swift consideration to the above suggestion.

With my very best regards.

Yours sincerely,
