Health Ministry signs Contract to Facilitate Vaccination Registration

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, March 18, 2021: The Ministry of Health and Wellness today signed a contract with Itelbpo Smart Solutions which has been engaged as the call centre for persons to register and make appointments for COVID-19 vaccines in Jamaica.

The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry's Emergency Operating Centre in New Kingston.

 

The primary mode of registration will be via an online software platform. However, the Ministry recognizes that some people may want to make the appointments by way of telephone calls or visiting their health department or health centre.

Therefore, under the agreement inked today, in addition to the online platform which will be rolled out next week, members of the priority groups will also be able to register by visiting or calling their health department/ health centre, or our Vaccination Hotline call centre at 888-ONE-LOVE (888-663-5683).

 

After the registration process begins on Monday next week, the intention of the Ministry is commence vaccination of persons 75 years and older.

 

While addressing the contract signing ceremony today, Health and Wellness Minister, Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton, welcomed the partnership with the entity and commented that the signing represents a crucial development in Jamaica's roll out of its vaccination implementation initiative.

 

Dr. Tufton also took the opportunity to again commend the nation's healthcare workers and administrators who have been sterling in their efforts in the initial phase of the roll out of the national vaccination implementation plan which has resulted in over 16,000 Jamaicans being inoculated so far.

 

The Chief Executive Officer of Itel BPO, Mr. Yoni Epstein, also addressed the signing ceremony and welcomed the partnership with the Government of Jamaica. Mr. Epstein vowed to ensure all reasonable steps are taken to provide an efficient communication platform, even as many Jamaicans are awaiting their opportunity to make an appointment to be inoculated.
