Elderly Gentleman's JPSCo bill Over JAD400,000!

The theft of JPS electricity continues. Many believe that they are stealing from the JPS but they are in fact stealing from their own brothers and sisters. Honest customers have to meet the cost of this stolen electricity.

The JPS cell phone app below, shows you how much neighbours have ran up a high bill for this elderly gentleman who cannot afford to pay this bill. Soon he will have to do without electricity or join the stealing line. This senior citizen now has a whopping bill of over JAD 400,000.

The Jamaican governments over the years have failed to deal with this social problem, which is also a crime. I have often said that the children grow up seeing their parents stealing electricity and water, then they will 'falla backa' their parents. These children will grow up and probably do well and end up with their degrees. These same children could become the next Prime Minister, the next Governor General, a bishop or even a judge of the Supreme Court. Stealing has now become no big thing in Jamaica Land We Love.

Let us lobby the government now to work with JPSCo, to reduce the level of electricity theft  which should help to reduce our electricity costs.

Because of the so called"poor people" sucessive governments allow them to get away with everything.
This country need some serious sanctions. If there was a 10 year sentence for electricity theft, do you think we would have this problem?
Many of these so called poor ppl have ac and flat screen TV that run all day.

Poor soul they can't expect him to pay it if they have proof he didn't use it, I had to pay over $60,000 already for light I didn't use, wasn't even at home during the time,so I didn't expect it to come to that amount, and no one was on it either, something seriously wrong with their meters or something

This matter is a national challenge. The honest citizens have to pay for those who do not pay. This old man in his twilight years and he will never have electricity again unless he joins the line with all the thieves. Please join the lobby to call on government to act and deal with this challenge. Forward this post to your MP, your church leaders, business leaders and other national leaders. Sent it to your friends and families because enough is enough.
